NEW DELHI, May 25: Nickel futures traded a shade lower at Rs 810.10 per kg prices as speculators offloaded positions after the metal declined in global markets.
Furthermore, low demand from alloy-makers and other consuming industries in the domestic spot markets also weighed on the prices.
Nickel for delivery in May eased by 40 paise, to Rs 810.10 per kg in a turnover of 1,060 lots in futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
The metal for delivery in June shed 20 paise to Rs 817.90 per kg in 227 lots.
Analysts said nickel prices fell largely in line with a weakening trend overseas. Slackened demand from alloy-makers in domestic spot markets also put pressure on the metal.
Globally, nickel for July delivery, lost 2 per cent to 98,110 yuan per tonne on the Shanghai Futures Exchange. (PTI)
