JAMMU, Feb 16: Over 170 persons engaged as night chowkidars in the CAPD department and working as temporary workers for the last more than 20 years have demanded their regularization.
These workers have been performing the other jobs like salesman, control clerks , store incharge etc in the department. But despite several representations to the Director CAPD Jammu and higher officials they have not been regularised so far. They pointed out that despite Supreme Court directions, the senior officers were trying to delay their case and were not sending to the Administrative Secretary for the final disposal.
These hapless workers who are working on the meager wages and feeding their families, have urged upon the State Governor N N Vohra and Chief Secretary B R Sharma to intervene into the matter.
