Srinagar, May 10: Weather likely to remain dry on Wednesday even as night temperature still remains below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The Meteorological department predicts that weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
Bright sun appeared in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley with pleasant weather conditions prevailed. Tourists, mostly attired in warm clothes, were seen basking under the sun on the fashionable Boulevard road on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.
The maximum temperature although shows gradual increase at most of the places, but still remained below normal similarly the night temperature dips further at various places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Srinagar recorded the day temperature 19.1 degree Celsius against 23.6 degree Celsius and it was 4.5 degree Celsius below normal. The days are likely to get warmer as predicted by the MeT office.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a low of 6.4 degree Celsius against 6.3 degree Celsius which was 4.3 degree Celsius below normal.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway had a low 4.0 degree Celsius against 5.8 degree Celsius against and it was 5.2 degree Celsius below normal for the gateway of Kashmir.
Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.3 degree Celsius against 1.8 degree Celsius which was 5.8 degree Celsius below normal for the famous tourist hot spot.
Kokernag recorded a low of 4.3 degree Celsius against 4.0 degree Celsius and it was 4.9 degree Celsius below normal for the famous picnic hotspot of south Kashmir.
Gulmarg had a low of 1.0 degree Celsius against minus 0.5 degree Celsius and it was 4.2 degree Celsius below normal for the famous ski resort of north Kashmir.
Kupwara recorded a low of 4.2 degree Celsius against 4.7 degree Celsius which was 5.1degree Celsius below normal for the frontier Kashmir district on Wednesday, the MeT office said. (Agencies)
