Night temperature improves in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 29: People in Kashmir had a sigh of relief from bone chilling cold today as night temperatures in most parts of the Valley showed improvement.
A Meteorological Department official said the minimum temperature in summer capital Srinagar was recorded 1.3 degree Celsius against the previous of -1.9 degree Celsius. He said that day temperature in Srinagar settled at 15.2 degree Celsius. Qazigund in south Kashmir recorded a low of -0.6 degree Celsius against previous of -2.2 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 14.0 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Pahalgam tourist resort also improved by several notches and it was recorded 1.2 degree Celsius against the previous of -3.9 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Pahalgam was recorded 13.4 degree Celsius. In Kupwara, the day temperature was recorded 15.5 degree Celsius and night temperature settled at 0.7 degree Celsius against the previous low of -2.1 degree Celsius.
Kokernag recorded a maximum of 13.7 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at 1.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -1.4 degree Celsius. Gulmarg ski destination recorded a low of -3.0 degree Celsius against the previous of -3.4 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 4.5 degree Celsius.
Leh also witnessed an increase in night temperature where minimum temperature settled at -3.7 degree Celsius against the previous of -7.3 degree Celsius while maximum temperature stood at 8.6 degree Celsius. Kargil recorded a maximum of 7.8 degree Celsius and minimum temperature settled at -4.0 degree Celsius against the previous of -6.4 degree Celsius.
