Srinagar, Dec 3: The night temperatures across Kashmir dropped by several notches today to settle below freezing while day temperatures settled above normal and visibility improved.
Srinagar had a low of minus 2.1 degree Celsius. Gulmarg in North Kashmir dropped to minus 1.4 degree Celsius. Pahalgam in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.4 degree Celsius.
Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded the minimum at minus 3.1 degree Celsius, while in Kokernag town in South it was 1 degree Celsius.
Qazigund, recorded the minimum temperature at minus 2.4 degree Celsius.
Leh being the coldest place recording a minimum of minus 9.6 degree Celsius and Kargil town recorded the minimum of minus 6.6 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Jammu city was also a degree above normal at 9.6 degree Celsius. Katra recorded 10.6 degree Celsius, Batote 8.5 degree Celsius, Banihal 11.4 degree Celsius and Bhaderwah 4.3 degree Celsius as the lowest night temperature.
Srinagar recorded maximum day temperature of 13.7 degree Celsius while normal day temperature for this time of the year is 11degree Celsius. Qazigund recorded 14.9 degree Celsius, Pahalgam 13.2 degree Celsius, Kupwara 14.2 degree Celsius, Kokernag 14.2 degree Celsius, Gulmarg 9 degree Celsius, Leh 8 degree Celsius and Kargil 7 degree Celsius.
The day temperatures in Jammu city was recorded at 23.2 degree Celsius, while it was 21.4 degree Celsius in Katra town, 20.7 degree Celsius in Batote, 19.5 degree Celsius in Banihal and 19.8 degree Celsius in Bhaderwah town.
The weatherman said dry weather conditions will prevail in the State for next few days.
