NIIT celebrates World Computer Day

NIIT celebrating World Computer Day at Jammu on Monday.

JAMMU, Dec 2: NIIT Jammu celebrated December 2 as World  Computer Literacy Day which also is the foundation day of NIIT Ltd.
A function was held in this connection in which the students and entire staff of all NIIT centres participated.
The NIIT was conceived and stated on December 2, 1981 by three IIT -ians one among whom was Rajinder S Pawar a Jammuite. The Company which started its first computer education centre in Mumbai in 1981 when IT Industry was just picking up but shortage of man power was one of the biggest problem.
The idea of these three IIT-ians was to train and provide man power to the fast expanding IT industry in India. Seeing success it introduced the unique Franchise business model which not only led to opening of many new channels for providing quality computer education but also ignited the fire entrepreneurship across the country.
In nineties it introduced the GNIIT program which shaped the careers of tens of thousands of graduates in India.
Continuing its traditions of innovations, it diversified into various other sectors such as banking, finance and insurance, professional life skills, BPO, executive management education and ICT solutions of schools.
Rahul Sharma Director of the Jammu NIIT Franchise Company on this occasion said whole December month will be celebrated as Computer Literacy Month in which NIIT will be offering computer literacy programs at very nominal price.
