JAMMU, Feb 17: For his extraordinary contribution in the field of Dogri language and literature, eminent litterateur and National Award Winning translator, Yashpaul Nirmal has been selected for international level prestigious honour ‘Sahitya Ratna Samman 2023’ from B.P.A Foundation and India Netbooks, New Delhi.
This was informed by Convenor of the high level selection committee, Prof. Rajesh Kumar on behalf of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of India Netbooks Noida while releasing the list of writers selected for the honours and awards.
The selection committee was formed under the chairmanship of eminent litterateur Mamta Kalia and it comprised of Convenor, Prof. Rajesh Kumar and Members, Dr. Sushil Kumar Trivedi, Shobhana Narayan, Rajendra Mohan Sharma, Pratap Sehgal, Girish Pankaj, Farooq Afridi, Prabodh Govil and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.
The award ceremony will be organized on March 9, 2024 at New Delhi and the litterateurs who will be honoured and awarded will be from India, America, Australia, Canada, Norway, Japan, Austria, UK, Russia, Ireland, UAE, Portugal, Germany, Mauritius, Nepal, Sri Lanka etc.
It is noteworthy that more than 70 books of Yashpaul Nirmal have been published so far in various genres. His Dogri children’s novel Chuttiyan has been translated into more than 25 Indian languages.
Till now, Nirmal has received many national and international honours and awards for his significant contribution in the field of literature, children literature and translation.
