Nirvan Diwas of Badshah Kalander observed

JAMMU, May 9: The trustees of Badshah Kalandar Ashram, observed 27th Nirvan Diwas of Badshah Kalander (Annual Jag) here at his Ashram Pandoka Colony, Sector 4, Paloura, today.
In this connection a Yagyna was initiated yesterday evening and continued up to this afternoon. Devotees and disciples visited Ashram both the days and participated in the religious function.
The Ashram was abuzz with chanting of Vedic Mantras and reciting of Shaiv Sutras. This year the a novel programme was launched by the management of the Shree Badshah Kalandar Ashram that performance of Hawan was made available live online on the Website of Himaliyan Hertiage site.
Besides, recitation of Vedic mantras, explanatory notes of the logic and scientific reasons for geometrical signs and symbols prepared and used before the commencement of Hawan were explained online live by known religious and social scholar Sanjay Raina which was applauded by the viewers and devotees.
The devotees performed Bajan and Kirtan during both the days to seek blessings of this great saint of Kashmir.
Puran Aahoti was performed at 1.30 pm which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees.
Devotees also paid obeisance at the Samadhi of Badshah Kalandar which also serves as meditation centre and Satsang Bhawan of the Ashram.
Meanwhile for world peace and prosperity of human beings a Maha Yagya was performed by Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) at Gandhi College Raipur, Bantalab.
A large number of people including educationists and prominent persons of Kashmir Pandit community participated in the function. The recitation of Vedic hymns reverberated the atmosphere all over.
The people were served with Prasad after Puranhauti besides the members of management Committee of the College and HESK, the staff of the college also participated in the function which was held under the chairmanship of president HESK, Prof B L Zutshi.
