JAMMU, May 14: Cultural Club ‘Nirvana Academy’ today organised dance and singing competition ‘Uchi Udaan’ for specially-abled children, artists and youth of Jammu region.
Sham Lal Bassan, Municipal Councillor was the chief guest while Arbind Dogra, Music Director from Adoman Music Mumbai, M.K Badyal NFB J&K State Convener and Nivedita Sukla, Principal LBM Sightless School were guest of honour while Rishi Kilam was the special guest.
The programme commenced with group dance performance by LBM Sightless School students on song ‘Mere Papa’ which was followed by singing performance by students of SOS School.
As many as 40 participants from different schools, institutions performed under the guidance of Chief Organisers Gurpreet Singh and Chandni Singh.
Kuldeep Raina, HOD Music Department; Miss Smiley Tanuja Bollywood Dance Choreographer and Mukteshi Sharma noted classical singer were judges.
Shifali Sharma, Monika Badgal, Adesh Kumar and Rehain Prince were felicitated on the occasion for their outstanding work in their respective fields.
Founder, Nirvana Academy Hitesh Badyal delivered vote of thanks while Monika Badgal anchored the programme.
Ritika Deep, Nancy Aryan and Manya stood first, second and third respectively in kids dance category whereas Paarth Pandita, Tavneet Kour bagged first prize, second and third prize respectively. The junior dance category was won by Dhruv Goutam and Raghav.
In singing kids category Nitya Balaji won first prize where as Rishika and Bhumika Chib got second and third prize respectively. Netra Tickoo won first prize in junior folk song category. Shivani Jyotshi, Vansh Thakur and Divya stood first, second and third respectively in junior light singing.
In senior light singing Shubham, Ruksana, Jaspreet Kour won first, second and third prize respectively.
In folk song senior category Sunaina Patyal got first, Sahil Bhat won second and Paarthi Dhar stood third.
All the participants were felicitated with medals and certificate of participation.
