Nirvana Academy organizes dance workshop for deaf, dumb children

Deaf & dumb students taking part in dance workshop at Jammu.

JAMMU, Sept 22: Nirvana Academy organized a dance workshop for deaf and dumb children at Samaj Kalyan Kendra (Secondary School for Hearing Handicapped Chil-dren), Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
Organizations like Disabled Care Foundation, Mindscape Environmental and Educational Trust, Voice for Rights supported the cause.
In the 7-day long workshop, which concluded today, 17 boys and girls of the school took part. Paramjeet Kour, a dance choreographer from Jammu trained the children in different forms of dance. Dogri dances were also prepared by the children during the workshop.
Hitesh Badyal, president of Nirvana Academy expressed pleasure for his team to work with the specially abled children.
He announced that a programme shall also be organized for the participants of workshop.
Other prominents present on the occasion, included Umesh Sharma, president Disabled Care Foundation, Ashutosh Sharma from Volunteer for Better India and Tahir Mushtaq. Rachna Sharma, teacher of the school, assisted the dance workshop and helped the dance choreographer to understand the sign language of children.
Vishali Raina, Diksha Deol, Khushboo, Nidhi, Monica, Baby, Rukaya Bano, Rakshanda, Jyoti Choudhary, Rashmi, Shivali, Seema, Naiz Ali, Richu, Raj Kumar, Naveel and Vikash participated in the dance workshop.
To mark International week of deaf people, tomorrow a programme will be organized in the premises of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra in which school students will take part in cultural programme, painting competition and tree plantation drive
