JAMMU, Nov 15: Nirwaan Diwas (day of achieving salvation) of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati—founder of Arya Samaj was celebrated on Diwali at Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg, here at City Chowk.
Rich tributes were paid to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati after performing a Hawan which was attended by Arun Gupta, president Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg; Balwan Singh, general secretary; Rakesh Chouhan, Treasurer; Vivek Gupta, secretary; Mukesh Shastri and other members of Arya Samaj.
Services for the welfare of society by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati were remembered and lauded on this occasion and the programme culminated with Shanti Paath.
Earlier the salvation day used to be celebrated jointly with participation of all the Arya Samaj temples of J&K, Arya Kanya Pathshala, Veer Ram Chander Samarak Bathera School etc but this time the celebrations were limited due to COVID-19 pandemic and keeping in view standard operating procedures issued by the Government.
