JAMMU, Feb 6: NISD Jammu, Kathua and Bari Brahamna organised Innovative Dress Designing Competition at KL Saigal Hall, here today.
Aditi Sharma, Senior BJP leader was the chief guest on the occasion, while Sandhya Gupta (Founder of Women Club “Meri Pehchan”) and Dr Rinku Gupta (Director of CIS International Prep School), were the adjudicators of the competition. On the occasion, NISD Jammu students displayed extraordinary skills and won hearts of the chief guest, judges and other dignitaries by their dress designing skills. The dresses were made with ropes, steel wires, thermocol and papers.
The students focussed the attention of all towards them not only by their innovative designing but also by making all dresses with the themes, like Festival, Pollution, Women Empowerment, Angel and Demon, etc.
Make up which was also done by NISD students was also a great attraction of this competition.
Manju Bala (NISD Centre Head, Jammu) said that, NISD’s is always trying to show that how much talent is in our State.
She highly appreciated the work of students and said that NISD wanted to show that make up does not mean only to dress up a bride and fashion designing not only mean to make dresses with cloths, adding that lot of innovative work can be done in both fields like we showed in this competition.
“If anyone wants to make his/her career as Makeup Artist or Fashion Designer then NISD provides you state of the art infrastructure, highly trained and experienced faculties with latest techniques and competitive course syllabus,” she added.
From last 2 years, over 300 students of NISD’s are working in reputed saloons of J&K and over 75 NISD students run their own saloons in J&K and provide employment to other youth.
Irfan Choudhary (Nine Planets) was the model choreographer, show designer.
