JAMMU, June 26: Police today said low intensity nitro compound explosive material had been used in triggering powerful explosion at Naib Tehsildar, Dhar Galoon office in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district early yesterday in which the office was blasted.
“We are looking into various angles. Several suspects are being quizzed to ascertain nature of the blast and the persons, who triggered it,” SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain said.
He said though a definite lead hasn’t been gathered, some clues were being pursued. The persons, who were present in the office of the Naib Tehsildar and those who had visited the office on that day were being quizzed, he added.
The SSP Poonch said though the Line of Control (LoC) was just five kilometers from the site of blast, there were no indications to suggest that the militants had infiltrated to trigger the blast. “It appeared to be an act engineered by the locals,” he added.
It may be mentioned here that a powerful blast had blown up the office of the Naib Tehsildar at Dhar Galoon in wee hours of yesterday morning when the office was locked. Though the office was extensively damaged, there were no casualties.
