JAMMU, Jan 11: Emphasizing on the need for immediate amendment of SRO 64, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Governor NN Vohra to formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of all daily rated workers, casual or seasonal labourers, and contractual as well as adhoc employees engaged in various departments of the State Government after March 31, 1994.
Addressing a well attended rally of NMC activists at Brahmin Sabha here, NMC president Subhash Shastri said that early amendment in SRO 64 is the need of the hour, which includes near 62000 daily rated workers working in various State Government and public sector undertakings, adding that such an amendment in said SRO should be immediately effected so that new regularization policy becomes operational.
While pleading the cause of the State Government employees and pensioners, Shastri demanded early release of 10 and seven percent DA due from January and July last year in favour of State Government employees and pensioners, respectively, in view of sharp increase of inflation and price hike.
He said that the State Government has already ear-marked funds for the purpose in the current year financial budget stressing that since DA is the part of the salary, hence pending 17% DA installments should be released as early as possible.
Expressing his grave concern over the non-enforcement of CP Fund deduction in various Government departments, Shastri demanded strict enforcement of the scheme to protect the interest of working class and also demanded early payment of wages of daily wagers pending for months together.
