JAMMU, Sept 15: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President Subash Shastri today appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur to announce the release of pending installment of 5 per cent DA due from July 1, 2019 in favour of Central and State Government employees and pensioners.
Shastri said the price index which was 5.90 per cent in December 31, 2018 stands at 10.75 in June 30, 2019 and urged PM and others to take decision in the forthcoming Union Cabinet meeting, so that employees both central and State Governments viz pensioners would celebrates upcoming festivals with fervor and gaiety.
He hoped that the salaried class and pensioners are likely to receive a big bonanza ahead of the coming festive season by the Central Government.
“DA for the second half of 2019 is expected to increase to 17 per cent and the Central Government employees can expect this hike to reflect in their October 2019 salaries. If this comes to pass, it will be the biggest hike since the implementation of the 7th CPC recommendations in 2016”, he added.
Expressing concern over the undue delay in accepting and implementing the recommendations of Ashok Lavasa Committee set by the central Government to review the pay structure of pay anomalies pertaining to lower staff, Shastri also appealed to Narendra Modi to intervene and settle the issue at the earliest so that the benefits of recommendations of the said committee will reach to the aggrieved claim of employees who are main suffers. He hoped that issue will be settled once for all.
