NMC appeals PM to constitute 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU, Dec 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Prime Minister to immediately constitute the 7th Pay Commission by appointing its chairman and members.
Addressing a rally of the NMC workers at Gandhi Nagar today. Mr Shastri said that announcement in this regard should be made in the current session of the Parliament so that the confusion and uncertainty among the employees of Central and State Governments are removed once for all.
He said the employees and pensioners should be given benefits of 7th Pay Commission from January 2011.
During the rally Mr Shastri pledged that his organisation will fight for the cause of daily wagers, casual and seasonal workers working in PWD, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, PDD, RDD, Floriculture, Forest, Agriculture and other departments of the State Government.
Shastri also urged the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to amend SRO 64 and announce the time bound implementation of regularization policy for all the daily wagers, casual and seasonal workers in the State who were appointed till March 2012.
He said most of the daily wagers were not getting their wages regularly and their working conditions were bad. He demanded enhancement of their monthly wages to Rs 10,000 and enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month.
Shastri also demanded technical grade for floriculture employees, immediate holding of DPC, release of 10 per cent DA due from July last, merging of 5 percent DA in the basic pay, pension, release of three installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month, uniform grades and continuance of service of casual workers in Floriculture Department.
