page15-6JAMMU, Nov 8: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Prime Minister (PM) to earmark part of the announced package funds for liquidating the financial liabilities to the accrued regularization of 61000 daily rated workers as well as implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations in the State.
Addressing a meeting of NMC activists, Subhash Shastri, NMC president, complimented the Prime Minister for announcing a mega economical package to the State. He said that judicious use of these funds in various sectors will boost the economy of the State and will usher a new era of development.
Shastri expressed that now since the State Government has received a financial package from the Centre, there should not be any hitch for State Government to regularize the 61000 daily rated workers and release them their legitimate outstanding dues. This will enable the State Government to fulfill its election promise of regularization the daily rated workers, he added.
Shastri also urged upon the PM to accord the ‘smart city’ status to the cities of Jammu and Srinagar so that the J&K State also comes on the National panel of smart cities of the country in consonance with the slogan of the PM “Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas”.
He reiterated his demand to release the balance pending 6% DA to the employees and pensioners of the State due from 2015 as the Centre has already released the same.
