NMC demands regularization of daily wagers

JAMMU, May 18: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) asked the Government to constitute a high level committee for the regularization of services of daily wage workers.
This was stated by Subash Shastri, president, NMC while addressing NMC activists at secretary park, Gandhi Nagar.
He appealed the Chief Minister to regularize the services of all the daily wage workers and casual labourers and adhoc employees who have been engaged with different Government departments.
He demanded perks and allowances to these labourers including pensionary benefits, early constitutions of the 7th pay commission, immediate merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay/pension, grant of 20 per cent interim relief to the salaried class, raising of tax exemption limit to Rs 5 lakh and increase the monthly wages of the daily wagers to Rs 10,000.
Among others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Ragu Pal, Madan Lal Bhagat, Surinder Kumar, Tilak Raj, Darshan Lal, Mohd Shafi, Jog Raj, Rakesh Padha, etc.
