NMC demands release of DA instalments

JAMMU Oct 15: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri here today urged upon the PM Modi to release the pending instalments of 4 per cent DA due from July 1, 2024.
He also demanded pending 18 months’ Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears besides merging of 50 per cent DA with basic pay and pension for Government employees and pensioners in view of increasing inflation and price hike of essential commodities.
Addressing NMC workers in a meeting Shastri urged PM Modi to appoint Chairman and other members of 8th pay commission.
He also demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme as many States like Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Karnataka and Sikkim have done this. The NMC leader demanded special package of Rs. 2,000 crore per annum for regularization of daily rated workers in J&K and increase of medical allowance to Rs. 1000 per month on the pattern of UT of Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Ram Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Sukhdev Singh and Raman Sharma.
