JAMMU, Oct 31: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri has urged upon the J&K Lieutenant Governor to release pending installment of 3 per cent DA due from July this year in favour of J&K Government employees and pensioners before Diwali festival.
Addressing NMC workers here today he claimed that the same DA has already been released by the Central Government to its employees and pensioners.
Shastri also demanded exemption of DA from the ambit of Income Tax as it is linked with price index.
He demanded separate wage head for regular disbursement of monthly salary to daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs. 600 per day, regularizing their services under SRO 64, setting up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central Laws in J&K UT besides granting medical allowance to pensioners at Rs. 1000 per month at par with that of Central Government.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma and J.P Sharma were also present on the occasion.
