NMC highlights demands

JAMMU, June 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) workers demanded enhancement in the wages of daily wagers from Rs 125 to Rs 300 per day.
NMC workers held a protest demonstration at Brahman Sabha against the Government for not conceding their long pending demands. Raising slogans, they dema–nded fulfillment of their demands at the earliest.
Addressing the gathering, Subhash Shastri, president, NMC, urged upon the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission to include package of Rs 5000 crore in next year year’s annual plan to enable the J&K to regularize the services of all daily wagers and disbursement of the outstanding arrears of Sixth pay commission to employees and pensioners.
He said that liberal funding to J&K would help the Government to carry forward its agenda of socio economic development.
He demanded release of salary of motivators working in IWDP Akhnoor besides their regularization, issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers working in RDD, regularization of the services of the daily wagers, casual workers and adhoc employees, enhancement in the wages of daily wagers from Rs 125 to Rs 300 per day and enhancement of the income tax limit.
