JAMMU, Nov 22: Expressing serious concern over non –regularization of daily wagers despite putting in more than 16 years of service, president of National Mazdoor Conference, (NMC), Subash Shastri called for adopting a clear cut policy with regard to their timely regularization in various Government Departments in the State.
Addressing a series of NMC activists meeting at Kanjali, Bomyal, Gundla and other places, Shastri urged the Chief Minister to ask the Cabinet Sub Committee to immediately submit its report regarding the regularization of services of daily wagers.
He also demanded amendments in SRO –64 to facilitate regularization of all daily wagers in one go who have completed seven years of service. He also urged for enhancing daily wages from Rs 125 per day to Rs 300 per day in view of steep rise of the cost of the essential commodities.
Pleading the cause of State employees and pensioners, NMC chief stressed for enhancing medical allowance from Rs 300 per month to Rs 1000 per month, besides Government bearing full cost of treatment of pensioners in case of specialized treatment required within outside the state as well as those suffering from serious ailments.
