JAMMU, Oct 20: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to ensure that the funds under salary Head are released in respective departments well in time so that salary, pension and all pending wages are paid to the employees, pensioners and daily rated workers, respectively, on October 25 itself enabling them to make necessary purchases for Diwali festival.
Addressing a well attended workers meet at Gandhi Nagar here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said that Diwali is falling on October 30 of this month, adding that the salaried/working classes, pensioners and daily rated workers become hard up due to the high inflationary pressure in their day to day living having no other source of income.
Shastri hoped that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will take keen interest to release salary, pension along with all pending wages to daily rated workers well before this festival.
