JAMMU, May 1:Reiterating its demand for early release of two pending 14% DA installments, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Chief Minister (CM) and Finance Minister (FM) to release the said installments in favor of employees and pensioners.
Addressing a well attended workers meet here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that Government should take a decision in this regard at the first State Cabinet meeting which is likely to be held in the summer capital of State in the second week of May.
Shastri said another installment of DA at the rate of 8 per cent has also become due from July1 that would ultimately pile-up the arrears thus adding extra burden on State Government. “An early release of DA installments is need of the hour adding that they have high hopes from PDP and BJP led Coalition Government” he said.
The NMC president further urged CM Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Darbu for their intervention into early payment of all pending wages to daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government.
