NMC urges CM for immediate release of pending 3 pc DA

JAMMU, Dec 16: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subhash Shastri has urged CM Omar Abdullah to announce the release of pending 3 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) instalment due from July this year.
Addressing NMC workers during a meeting here today, Shastri said that other States have already released 3 per cent DA instalment.
Referring to the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations implemented in 2016, Shastri highlighted the provision to merge 50 per cent DA into basic pay or pension once DA crosses 50 per cent.
He said: “With DA now at 53 per cent, we request the Government to merge 50 per cent DA into basic pay or pension.”
The NMC leader also demanded 20 per cent interim relief for Centre and State Government employees and pensioners till 8th Pay Commission is constituted.
His other demands included regularisation of daily rated workers and release of their pending salaries, wage enhancement for daily wagers to Rs 18,000 per month, increase in medical allowance to Rs 1,000 per month and implementation of CAT’s decision to address clerical cadre pay anomalies.
Those who were present in the meeting were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Raman Sharma, Vinod Kumar, ex-Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Ram Singh, Subash Sharma, Ram Lal Sharma and others.
