No action taken against Ministers involved

JAMMU, Dec 17: Launching scathing attack on the ruling National Conference regime in the State, top People’s Democratic Party leaders today alleged that Chief Minister has failed to take action against his Ministers involved in corruption, land grabbing and criminal cases while only NC leadership was harping on the pre-poll alliance in the 2014 Assembly elections whereas, the other party was still silent over the issue.
Addressing party workers meeting here today, PDP patron and former J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed said that PDP has emerged as strong and credible alternative for the people of the  State. The party brought the derailed process on the track and earned credibility of the people with its work. It believes to stand on its own feet and emerge stronger by virtue of its strength. He criticized the National Conference leadership for harping on pre-poll alliance in the 2014 Assembly elections. He said there was no word on the issue from the other party, which indicates clear panic in party cadre.
The PDP leader said NC leadership needs crutches to walk on and is unable to tread on its own legs.  It should be known to all that those moving on others’ crutches do not stay for long.  He said the same administration and forces rendered immense support to his Government. It is the question of  motivation and conviction. He asked the party workers to gear up their activities and intensify their campaign from January next year as 2013 is the year of campaign and election.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti launching attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his Government alleged that there was no accountability in his regime at all. Many of his Ministers were allegedly involved  in corruption, land grabbing and even in some criminal cases but no action has been taken against them by the Chief Minister or by the people sitting in Delhi. She alleged that even Chief Minister himself was facing serious charges in  Haji Yousuf’s  case but New Delhi and some other people here came to his rescue. She said  fair deal or justice can not be expected  as people enjoying power here do anything wrong and go unpunished. On the other hand, if any minor youth if dares to raise voice against this regime or even throws a stone to lodge his protest, is detained under PSA. This kind of double standards can only be witnessed during this regime,” she maintained.
“If New Delhi dares to take action against top Central leaders and ministers like Suresh Kalmadi, A Raja and even Mayawati, what prompts them not to touch J&K Ministers and even the Chief Minister facing serious charges. Same law should govern this part of the country also and there should not be double standards at all. It indicates that New Delhi was also shielding the Ministers in the State. New Delhi must change its stance towards J&K, she maintained.
Referring to violence and  trouble in the State in last several decades, Ms Mehbooba said NC always tried to get benefit of the violence and anti- India protests in Kashmir.  `Abdullahs ‘ projected in New Delhi that it was the only family which was patriot and was holding Indian flag in  Kashmir just to grab power.  She said the  PDP has exposed the Abdullah’s and PDP has emerged as strong, viable and credible alternative for the people of the State, she added.
Commenting of deaths of two infants in Baramullah hospital yesterday, Mehbooba said Chief Minister and his Government should be held responsible for it. Chief Minister can not escape responsibility. She also advocated to open other trade routes like Jammu-Sialkot and  Kargil-Askardu.
Former Dy Chief Minister and senior PDP leader  Muzaffar Hussain Beig,  Tariq Hamid Qarra,  T S Bajwa, Balbir Singh, Rangil Singh, Ved Mahajan and Asgar Ali also spoke on the occasion.
