No bovine to be transported without permission: Sahu

JAMMU, Apr 25: District Magistrate Ajeet Kumar Sahu today said that no bovine animals shall be transported from Jammu to other district without seeking written permission from the District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate under certain conditions.
This was stated by the District Magistrate at a meeting of officers of Animal Husbandry, Forests and JK Police convened here this evening.
Mr. Sahu directed the officers to arrange a joint camp including veterinary doctors at the Nakkas and check transportation of bovine animals like milk cattle/drought animals transported through trucks from Jammu to other districts of the State. He directed for not permitting anyone without checking of documents of permission. He asked for strictly monitoring transportation of bovine animals under norms, adding that no bovine animals smuggling will be tolerated and if found stern action will be initiated against the defaulter and the officer.
District Magistrate directed to provide wayside basic facilities to the nomads on foot with the animals.
