JAMMU, July 5: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations has criticized the LG administration for not keeping check on Reservation Policy and backlog vacancies in J&K Public Service Commission (PSC).
Addressing a press conference here today, RK Kalsotra (State president of the Confederation) flanked by the aggrieved highly qualified Research Scholars belonging to reserved category, said they have submitted a memorandum regarding the issue of pending backlogs to the LG.
Kalsotra said the Research scholars from the reserved category have been facing issues with the backlog posts of Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department (HED) of J&K under 1st and 2nd special drive as notified by the JKPSC on 23-12-2021. He said in this notification there are total 136 posts, of which SC have 27 and ST have 25 posts but on 03-02-2022, the General Administration Department (GAD) has informed the PSC that Administration council has decided to withdraw all the posts referred to PSC prior to 30-10-2019 for which selection have not been finalized till date.
“Furthermore, JKPSC On 25-05-2022 again released the notification for filling up the posts of Assistant Professor in HED of J&K on 25-05-2022. In this notification there are total 126 posts but only 13 posts are for SC, 11 for ST and 01 for OSC. In this notification there is no addition of backlog vacancies as notified by previous notification that was withdraw by the Government. It seems that earlier backlog posts are converted into general posts in this notification,” he added.
He said due to non-seriousness and unwillingness of the authorities to implement the order of Supreme Court and Central Government regarding clearance of backlog vacancies in Higher Education Department, the highly qualified youth belonging to reserved categories are suffering a lot in their carrier progression. He said similar instances have been repeated by the issuing authority JKSSRB in their advertisements.
