POONCH, Aug 28: In the absence of child specialist doctor in Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Mendhar, the people of the area are suffering severely for the last many months.
Official sources said that the post of child specialist is lying vacant in this hospital for the last 11 months. Due to this situation, the people of Mendhar Sub Division are suffering badly and they are forced to shift patients to District Hospital Poonch or Rajouri for the urgent treatment.
Some locals of the area Rajat Kapoor, Himanshu Sharma, Murtaza Ahmed and Zakki Khan said the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary J&K UT must solve this major problem of the people from this remote and border Sub Division of Poonch district.
Block Medical Officer, Mendhar, Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan when contacted admitted shortage of doctors and other staff in the hospital. He said, “It is true, there are many crucial posts lying vacant in the hospital and the people are suffering due to this. Government should pay attention to this issue and take immediate steps to fill up all these vacant posts, so that proper and timely treatment could be given to the needy patients.”
