JAMMU, Apr 5: Accusing BJP leaders of misleading people about the Congress stand against terrorism, JKPCC today said that Congress manifesto has clearly stated that there will be no compromise on the issue of terrorism and all measures will be taken to eliminate terrorism and infiltration.
Quoting the Congress pledge in election manifesto, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has said that Congress has promised hard measures and an uncompromising approach to put an end to terrorism and infiltration of militants, taking determined steps to persuade other countries to compel Pakistan to end its support to terrorist groups apart from taking several measures to strengthen the border security.
Sharma said that nation cannot forget the sacrifices of Congress leaders in fighting militancy in various parts of the country and in dealing with security situation more effectively and in an appropriate manner than the Modi Government.
The Congress leader further said that deteriorated security situation in J&K and rise in militancy during the BJP regime is the clear example of failure of the BJP to deal with security situation.
“Congress’ has a commitment of ‘Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme’ to poor citizens, through which poorest 20 per cent families in the country would be guaranteed Rs.72,000 a year and this amount will be deposited directly in the bank account of the women head of the family,” he claimed.
