Srinagar, June 24: Eight Councillors of Municipal Council (MC), Pattan have moved a no-confidence motion against MC President, Pritipal Singh Oberoi.
As per details, 8 out of 12 councillors have submitted the no-confidence motion before DC Baramulla and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Pattan.
Officials said that the councilors have accused MC president of failing to deliver, while also failing in executing developmental activities in Pattan, claiming that in the last year major funds have lapsed.
Oberoi, however, said that few councillors are “doing a political drama as they were involved in taking money from the people,” adding that he has been against the corruption since he took over the charge of MC Pattan and “would prefer to resign, but won’t allow corruption in his office.”
