No Corona death in J&K for 2nd time in 5 days, 126 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 17: For second time in last five days, no Corona casualties were reported from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir while 126 persons tested positive for the virus and 182 others recovered.
It was on January 13 after seven months that no Corona fatalities took place in the Union Territory.
Among 126 COVID positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 61 were reported in the Jammu region, 48 of them in Jammu district alone.
In rest of the districts, Poonch reported six cases, Kathua and Samba two each and Udhampur, Rajouri and Ramban one each. No cases were reported from Doda, Kishtwar and Reasi districts.
As many as 133 persons recovered from the virus in the Jammu region including 117 in Jammu district followed by eight in Poonch, four Rajouri, three Kathua and one Ramban. No recoveries were reported from rest of the districts.
Jammu region now has 51143 Corona cases. Of them, 483 only are active while 49945 have recovered from the virus and there have been 715 casualties in the region.
Among 715 casualties, the maximum 367 have been reported in the Jammu district, 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 51 Kathua, 39 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, 65 people tested positive for COVID-19 today in the Valley.
Srinagar reported 34 cases, Baramulla 4, Budgam 7, Pulwama 4, Kupwara 5, Anantnag 4, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 1 and Shopian 2.
With fresh cases, Srinagar has 25817 positive cases with 230 active, 25134 recovered, 453 deaths; Baramulla has 8064 positive cases with 64 active, 7828 recovered, 172 deaths; Budgam reported 7708 positive cases with 50 active cases, 7543 recovered, 115 deaths;  Pulwama has 5669 positive cases with 64 active, 5517 recovered and 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5621 positive cases with 67 active, 5460 recoveries, 94 deaths;  Anantnag district has 4850 positive cases with 52 active, 4714 recovered, 84 deaths;  Bandipora has 4678 positive cases with 36 active and 4581 recoveries, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4565 positive cases with 86 active, 4433 recoveries and 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2679 positive cases with 41 active, 2584 recoveries and 54 deaths while as Shopian has 2549 positive cases with 51 active cases, 2459 recoveries and 39 deaths.
Moreover, they said, 182 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including and 49 from Kashmir valley.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported seven new COVID positive cases, all in Leh district.
