JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, July 12: Jammu and Kashmir today didn’t report any COVID casualties but 155 fresh cases including 113 in Kashmir and 42 in Jammu. Nine fresh COVID cases were reported in the UT of Ladakh.
Among 42 cases reported in the Jammu region, 12 were detected in Jammu, 11 Doda, six Reasi, four Poonch, two each in Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban districts and one in Udhampur. No fresh case was registered in Kathua district.
As against 42 new cases, 228 persons today recovered from the virus in Jammu.
The region now has 1,20,848 Corona cases. Of them, 1226 are active positives while 1,17,496 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2126 casualties.
In Ladakh, nine new COVID positive cases were reported today including eight in Leh and one in Kargil district.
With this, Corona count in Ladakh has reached 20195 including 110 active positives, 19879 recoveries and 206 fatalities—148 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 113 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 33 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 10 from Budgam, 7 from Pulwama, 12 from Kupwara, 11 from Anantnag, 8 from Bandipora, 9 from Ganderbal, 14 from Kulgam and 2 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 70,696 positive cases including 832 deaths and 69,293 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,407 including 280 deaths and 22,979 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,744 including 22,408 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 15,040 including 14,759 recoveries and 193 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,959 including 165 deaths and 13,680 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,246 including 15,931 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,395 cases including 9,215 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,753 including 9,534 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,189 including 10,984 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,571 including 5,503 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 198,000 including 194,286 recoveries and 2,231 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,708 including 1,483 from Kashmir division.
With 448 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 311,782, which is 97.79 percent of the total cases.
And with a decline in COVID-19 positive cases, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad today issued fresh orders to all restaurants in the district, directing them to open for in-dine at 50 percent of the total capacity.
An order issued by the chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Srinagar, stated that all restaurants shall be allowed to open for in-dine from 07:00 am till 08:00 pm for non- check-in customers and till 10.00 p.m. for in-house/resident guests at 50 percent of total capacity and only for such customers who are vaccinated or are carrying a negative RT-PCR or RAT report of 48 hours prior.
“The owners/staff/managers of the establishments shall ensure strict compliance to the COVID appropriate behavior. Restaurant owners shall maintain a register at the entry point to record vaccination status of the visitors. Tehsildar concerned shall inspect such registers on a daily basis. Any deviation/non-compliance shall be the responsibility of owners/managers of such establishments,” read the order.
It said that the enforcement squads already constituted shall ensure compliance of these directions by all restaurant owners within their jurisdictions and shall initiate proceedings in case of violation/non-compliance.
The order further read that weekend curfew from Friday 08:00 pm till Monday 07:00 am and daily night Curfew from 08:00 pm till 07:00 am next day shall continue to remain in force in the district.
It also stated that only 50 percent of the shops in indoor shopping complexes/Malls shall be allowed to open at a particular time as per the schedule already issued by this office.
