No decision yet on shifting of traffic signal lights

JAMMU, Apr 3: Traffic Police has yet not taken any decision regarding the shifting of some traffic lights in the Jammu city, which have presently been put on blinker mode.
This was informed by the Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora in reply to the Calling Attention Notice of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta in the Lower House.
In Jammu city, 30 traffic signal lights have been installed and all are working smoothly. However, Traffic Police has put a few lights on blinker mode in order to arrive at a logical decision with regard to shifting of some lights, the Minister said, adding M/s Onnyz Electronics, New Delhi has been entrusted with the job of installation/ commissioning, operation and maintenance of traffic signals for a period of three years in Jammu city.
Expenditure to the tune of Rs 1.89 crore has been incurred on account of traffic signal lights in Jammu city.
