No electricity in Rajiv Nagar for four days

JAMMU, Aug 16: Rajiv Nagar (Ward 19) residents today staged a protest demonstration at the office of PDD in Green Belt area of Gandhi Nagar as power supply in their locality has been badly affected for the last four days.
The protesters said that even during the Independence Day their area remained in dark and they suffered in the absence of electricity.
One of the protesters said that they pay power bills well in time but still the power supply remains badly affected in their area.
“If there is rain in Udhampur, power supply is snapped in Rajiv Nagar,” he claimed.
The protesters raised demands against Power Development Department (PDD) and claimed that an officer from PDD misbehaved head of their locality.
Amit Gupta, JMC Councillor of Ward 19 informed that half of Rajiv Nagar is reeling under power crisis due to some fault as the new type of black wire is being installed in the area.
He said that in the new black wire fault is not easily detected and sub-standard material is being used in this work.
“I have talked to the concerned officers and they have assured to correct the fault soon,” the JMC Councillor maintained.
