Sir,
The devastation caused by the recent rains is a reminder to mankind by nature that man’s greed to usurp forest land and build concrete jungles has resulted in increasing natural catastrophes. With reduced tree cover, the slopes become unstable. This results in unhindered water flow, leading to landslides. There are rules to replace the lost tree cover with new plantations, but that is rarely done. Mankind does not have the ability to build or grow what mother nature does, why then takeaway the bountics bestowed upon us.?
