JAMMU, Nov 13: There was no exchange of sweets between BSF and Rangers along the International Border (IB) on the occasion of Diwali festival yesterday, mainly because of recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
However, Armies of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets at Chakkan-Da-Bagh on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district to celebrate Diwali festival.
Officials said the BSF and Rangers didn’t exchange sweets at any post along the IB in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts yesterday.
The reason, as per the officials, was ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Rangers in which a BSF jawan was martyred and couple of others were injured. In retaliation, four Rangers have so far been eliminated.
