No fresh attack on Kashmir bound vehicle: DC

UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, has clarified that no fresh incident of attack on Kashmir bound vehicle has been reported along the National Highway.
Setting the rumours of fresh attack to rest, Dr Shahid maintained that no such incident has been reported on night intervening October 9 and 10.
He added that elaborate security arrangements are in place and deployment along National Highway has been enhanced by the district police.  Teams of policemen in civil clothes are also maintaining vigilance against any attempts to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the district.
Clarifying the reports in circulation on social media regarding attack on a Kulgam bound vehicle by miscreants in Udhampur today, the DC said that no such incident has occurred or reported in the district. However, before the attack on Anantnag bound truck the group of youth, already under arrest, had pelted a stone on passenger vehicle Tavera when the passengers escaped unhurt and attack on truck was followed which was in the interior of town on old highway.
The persons arrested in the incident have been booked in FIR No 368/2015Good u/s 307/435/427/336/337/147/148/149/120-B RPC and 3/5 Explosive Substance Act and process has been initiated for booking them under Public Safety Act
