SRINAGAR: Not even a single Kashmiri crossed over to the other side of Line of Control (LoC) while 21 guests from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
Meanwhile, eight returnees also cross sides at the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC, official sources said this evening.
Sources said 21 PoK residents, including six women and as many children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot to meet their relatives here. A Kashmiri, who had gone to PoK, also returned to his home after completing stay across the LoC.
They said a bus carrying seven PoK residents, who had come here in previous buses, left State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) yard Bemina at 0430 hrs.
“The bus reached Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Salamabad, Uri at 0700 hrs safely,” they said, adding the PoK residents were later taken to Kaman post from where they crossing over to the other side. (AGENCIES)
