JAMMU, Mar 28: Minister for Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Ch Mohammad Ramzan today informed the Legislative Assembly that there was no need of No Objection Certificate from the Power Development Department for renewal of rational cards.
He was replying to the calling attention notice of NPP MLA from Samba, Yashpal Kundal.
“Ration cards to the rationed families are renewed against production of declaration Form “D” with inclusion/exclusion of members of the family, if any, duly authenticated by MP/MLA/Sarpanch of the village or Gazetted Officer in urban areas”, the Minister said, adding “there is no necessity of NOC from Power Development Department”.
“The Director CA&PD Jammu had issued a notice for production of some documents as identification proof but instructions have already been conveyed to the Director CAPD Jammu and all Assistant Directors not to ask for any such document for identification etc which would make it unnecessarily cumbersome to consumers”, Minister said.
