JAMMU, Oct 18: Giving a stern warning to corrupt officers and officials, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that there would be no compromise on corruption.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, today held in honour of Shaheed Amarnath Bhagat, Dr Singh said the coalition is committed to weed out corruption from the State and there will be no compromise on this account. Asserting that the deadwood would be removed from the administration which is eating up the vitals of the society, he announced that the second list of corrupt officers has been prepared and axe will fall soon on them.
He said there are clear cut instructions from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi that no compromise should be made on corruption and coalition in the State has made it clear that it will show zero tolerance to corruption.
Maintaining that the coalition is committed to agenda of alliance, he said no leniency will be shown to corrupt officials how influential they may be.
Dr Singh said there will be no compromise on the quality of developmental works and asked engineers to keep this thing in mind. Criticizing the previous coalition the Deputy CM said that the Muifti Mohammed Sayeed led PDP-BJP coalition has got liabilities in inheritance.  “Besides overcoming the liabilities, this Government has taken up many developmental projects in hand to take the State on path of progress’’ he added.
Many developmental projects have been started in the State and multi storied parking complex at Bus Stand is one among them, he said.
Dr Singh also took a dig at Congress for neglecting Amarnath Bhagat who laid down his life for implementation of reservations in the State. While highlighting contributions of the martyr, Dr Singh said he salutes this great son of the soil.
Terming the recent Udhampur incident and death of a trucker as unfortunate, he expressed his total sympathy with the bereaved family and said that Government had extended all help and support for the treatment of the driver by shifting him to Delhi.
He said Government will take all steps that such type of incidents should not take place in future. Dr Singh while criticizing those who tried to do politics over the issue and tried to create disturbances in Kashmir said that these forces are playing in the hands of Pakistan who is hell bent to create disturbances and threaten peace in the State.
The Deputy CM said that on such issues no politics should be done but every one by rising above party politics should try to defuse the tension. While ridiculing the statement of Omar Abdullah on this issue, he said the former CM brought the peace resolution in recent Autumn Session of the Assembly and both PDP and BJP supported it in the overall interests of the nation and State.
However Omar Abdullah today again started doing politics on the issue, he regretted and said that there should be no politics on the dead bodies.
