SRINAGAR : For the second consecutive week, no fresh guest from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) travelled in the Karvan-e -Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
However, three Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) at Kaman post, the last Indian military post in Uri sector this afternoon to meet their relatives, separated in 1947.
Official sources said no POK resident travelled to this side in the bus today. This was the for the second week, and third in 2013 that no POK resident arrived here. On January 14 no POK crossed to this side.
However, on January 21, the bus service was suspended due to landslides and snowfall on the other side of the LoC.
Sources said six Kashmiris, who had gone to POK returned to their homes after completing stay with their relatives. They included two women and a child.
Three Kashmiris crossed to POK, they said adding three POK residents who were here also returned to their homes after completing stay here.
The service, introduced on April 7,2005 after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugurated the bus from here, has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 to meet each other.
