MUMBAI, June 9:
For a debut composer, taking on the task of recreating a popular track like “Allah Duhai Hai” would have been a daunting task, but composer Tushar Joshi said that his process to make the song for “Race 3” was without any pressure.
The track of the Remo D’Souza directed thriller was launched recently and features the entire lead cast, comprising Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem.
While the original “Allah Duhai Hai” was composed by Pritam, including the track for “Race 2”, Tushar, who is part of Jam8, an artists and repertoire based platform founded by Pritam, stepped in for the third instalment.
When asked if it was challenging to recreate a popular track, Tushar told PTI, “There was no pressure at all. When Pritam gave the song to me to try it, I thought if I am not able to deliver, may be others would join in and take it forward. Because Pritam had trust in me, I went with that and hence there was no pressure.”
“The story brief was there with us and the team was very clear on the kind of music they wanted. I tried what I could,” he added.
Tushar started working for Pritam in 2016 and sang scratch songs for “Jagga Jasoos”. Impressed by his work, Pritam used his voice whenever Ranbir Kapoor’s singing portions appeared in the film.
Since Jam8 was involved with “Race 3”, Pritam asked Tushar to give it a shot and the producers liked his new version of “Allah Duhai Hai”.
“The producers had a certain mood in mind for the track and once they gave it to us, I just had to connect the dots. It didn’t take me much time at all. It was readied and approved at one go. Since the main track was by Pritam, I, of course, made him listen to the track and he liked it,” he said.
Tushar further said that he would like to focus on his singing more than composing music.
“Race 3” is scheduled to release on June 15. (PTI)
