No re-exam of BPSC: Govt

PATNA, Dec 31: A day after delegation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants called on State Chief Secretary to place their demand for re-conducting the preliminary test alleging paper leak, the Bihar Government on Tuesday ruled out re-examination saying there was no proof of paper leak.

Bihar Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, also a close confidante of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, told media persons here that State Government was prepared to take any step to safeguard the interests of students particularly BPSC aspirants.
Delegation of BPSC aspirants had called on state Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena on Monday with their demand for re-conducting preliminary test of 70th combined competitive examination of BPSC, he added.
Aspirants had alleged that there was paper leak in preliminary test conducted by BPSC on December 13, he further added.
“So far, there is no proof of paper leak in preliminary test conducted by BPSC on December 13 and there cannot be re-examination unless concrete proof of paper leak is provided to the government by aspirants or any other stakeholder”, Chaudhary said adding that disturbance was created at only one centre– Bapu examination centre in Patna, so examination had already been cancelled at this centre.
The Preliminary test was conducted peacefully at all other centres in Bihar, he emphasised.

The Minister said that an atmosphere was being deliberately created by some vested elements that question paper of the preliminary test was leaked and demanded for re-examination was being raised. How could re-examination be held without any proof of paper leak, he asked.
Chaudhary said that Bihar Government was sensitive towards the interests of the students.There was no question of any injustice being meted out to them, he asserted.
As it is, BPSC aspirants have been agitating for re-conducting the preliminary test alleging there was paper leak. A delegation of aspirants had called on Chief Secretary on Monday to demand re-examination.(UNI)
