KATHUA, Jan 28: Continuous traffic jams persist between Jammu and Kathua Districts, causing hardships for commuters, especially ambulances and school-going students.
The situation has not improved, leading to long waiting times for roads to clear.
Suhani, a college student, expressed the challenges of leaving early to ensure timely arrival at the institution, highlighting the risk of missing classes due to prolonged traffic delays.
Mannu, a regular commuter between Jammu and Kathua, lamented the routine experience of a 1-hour and 45-minute journey taking three hours due to poorly planned construction of bridges and the ongoing Expressway works at Chadwal, Dyala Chak, and Rajbagh areas.
He pointed out that the Expressway construction has been a significant contributor to extensive traffic jams.
Mannu appealed to authorities to devise effective strategies for executing Expressway construction to minimize congestion on the roads.
