DODA, June 23: In a shocking incident, a patient was carried all the way to hospital on shoulders in Tanta Draman village of mountainous Doda district.
The locals covered several kilometers with a patient on their shoulders exposes absence of basic facilities during emergency situations in the area.
Tanta Draman village in Tehsil Khara of Doda district still has no road connectivity and as a routine matter people of the village travel long distances on foot.
“Providing basic facilities like road connectivity should be the foremost priority of Government especially in this age of Digital India,” a local said.
Another local informed that the road from Tanta to Draman was sanctioned in 2019 through PWD (R&B).
“Total distance of the sanctioned road was 6 km from Wani Pura to Draman but till now only 3 km earth cutting has been done by the contractor whereas the balance work of construction is still awaited,” he claimed.
Still one more local informed that Tanta Draman area is deprived of road connectivity even after more than 78 years of Independence and the road connectivity to the area remained a long pending demand.
