Srinagar, June 6: Govern-ment today said it has not sanctioned separate hostel for girls belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) community in Samba.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Devinder Kumar Manyal in Lower House, Minister Incharge Social Welfare said no hostel has been sanctioned for SC girls in Samba.
However, land for 50 bedded SC Girls Hostel under ‘Babu Jagjeevan Ram Chhatravaas Yojna’ has been identified in the premises of Government Degree College Samba and R&B Department has been asked to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishment of Hostel, said the Minister.
“After the DPR is received, same shall be forwarded to Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for approval and release of funds,” added the Minister.
