No Tehsildar posted at S’bani, Beripattan, people protest

SUNDERBANI, July 12: The people from Sunderbani area led by several Sarpanchs and Panchs from Tehsil Sunderbani and Beripattan held a peacefully protest against Revenue authorities at Tehsil complex at Sunderbani today.
They were alleging rise in corrupt practices in the Tehsil office and also demanding filling up of vacant posts of Tehsildars at Sunderbani and Beripattan immediately. They said if the Administration failed to address issue within a week, they will launch 72-hour protest and also block Jammu- Poonch highway along with their cattle.
The protest was launched under the leadership of Block Development Council (BDC) chairman, Sunderbani, Arun Kumar Sharma and other Sarpanchs. They alleged large scale corruption in the tehsil and said many officials indulging in such practices in Tehsil offices are fearless of higher Revenue authorities and the Anti-Corruption Bureau, J&K UT.
Sarpanch Lok Nath Sudan, Sarpanch Mohan Singh, Sarpanch Yashpal Sharma, Panch Naresh Kumar and others said that due to delay in the posting of Tehsildar at Sunderbani and Beripattan many people are suffering. They said the post of Tehsildars are lying vacant at these places for the last three months. The concerned Ex-MLA from BJP Ravinder Raina was also informed by the locals about the issue but nobody bothered about the issue. The public is suffering badly. No one is there to issue Domicile, category certificates or sign registry documents of the lands.
They also alleged that Revenue department Sunderbani has become hub of corruption. Without corruption no Revenue officials does any work. The Patwaris have fixed rates of providing Fard of the lands. Vigilance authorities are also sleeping over the matter. The public is badly suffering at the hands of corrupt revenue officials.
They claimed that if the JKUT Administration failed to take action, public will launch 72 hour strike and protest dharna on Jammu-Poonch highway at Sunderbani Chowk along with their cattle and tractor-trolleys.
