RAJOURI, July 11: The people held protest as localities adjoining PG College Rajouri are without water supply for the last four days.
Residents of the locality came out on the road today and held protest. They alleged that concerned officials were informed about the issue but no cognizance was taken. The field staff has turned deaf ear towards the public plight. There is strong resentment against Jal Shakti Department in the area.
Arif Qureshi, a local resident told that people of the area are left on the mercy of God and Jal Shakti Dept has totally failed to provide water to general public.
Meanwhile in Durga Nagar area of lower Jawahar Nagar Rajouri there is no water supply since last 8 months. Local resident of Durga Nagar Ravi Verma told that our dug well has dried up and for the last 8 months and no alternate arrangement has been made for the suffering people. Ravi said that when they approached XEn Jal shakti he says there is no funds available with the Department and he was helpless in the matter.
