JAMMU, Jan 24: Taking strong exception against the statement by Congress leader, Digvijay Singh, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister advised the leadership of country’s oldest party to restrain from dragging army in the groundless controversies claiming that the same amounts down the morale of the personnel responsible for country’s protection from adversaries.
The BJP leader was chairing the meeting of Jammu South constituency here, today. The meeting was organised by Rekha Mahajan president, Jammu South constituency to make the strategy for the ensuing polls in the UT of J&K and sensitizing the party activists ahead of political contests including the Assembly, Lok Sabha and the Panchayat polls.
Kavinder said that the divergent remarks by the Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh and Digvijay Singh during the Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) has made one thing clear that there is difference of opinion on every issue in the party and the time is not far when the Congress will die its own death. He said, ” It is anybody’s guess that BJY is the last fiddle to save the Congress’ ship from sinking but deep in heart Rahul and his ilk know well that it is the mission impossible as no power on earth can rejuvenate it”.
He said that leaders like Digvijay should desist from decrying the army as this amounts to lowering of the morale of the brave security forces in the country. He said that historically Congress had created a State of J&K as a separate entity in the country, which the BJP leadership has undone after much difficulty therefore it is advisable for the old party to keep off from J&K to help the people lead a life with dignity and peace as earlier these two things were snatched by this directionless political outfit.
Rekha Mahajan said that the party cadre is ready to go for any political battle in J&K as ground work for the polls has been accomplished to the satisfaction of party leadership. She however asked the cadre to continue with the good work by remaining proactive on ground until the party registers a thumping majority in Assembly as well as Lok Sabha polls.
Other prominent persons present in the meeting included Ayodhya Gupta Parbhari, Vikram Randhawa Ex MLC, Garu Ram Bhagat DDC Member, Pt Ashok Khajuria, etc.
